Battery Alkaline

There are no products to list in this category.

An alkaline battery is a primary (non-rechargeable) electrochemical cell that generates power through a chemical reaction between zinc and manganese dioxide. It uses an alkaline electrolyte, typically potassium hydroxide, which gives the battery its name.

Alkaline batteries provide a steady 1.5 volts of output and are known for their long shelf life, affordable cost, and good performance in everyday electronic devices. They are commonly available in standard sizes like AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V.

These batteries are ideal for low to moderate-drain devices such as remote controls, clocks, flashlights, toys, and portable electronics. They are widely used because they offer better energy density and longer life compared to older zinc-carbon batteries.

However, alkaline batteries are single-use — they are not designed to be recharged and can leak if stored improperly after being fully drained.
